Third Thursday (Milan, Michigan)

(June 19, 2019) Third Thursdays in Milan, Michigan. Milan is a town of around  5,000 about fifteen minutes south of Ann Arbor. The actress Denise Nichols grew up in Milan. She starred in the seventies television show Room 222. If you remember watching that show you are really showing
your age. I remember watching that show. Despite rain and unseasonably cold temperatures, a good time was had by all. Thanks to Jill Tewsbury and the Main Street Milan staff for inviting me to come up and perform.

Diamond, Ohio

Performing on the tracks of the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad in Diamond, Ohio. Diamond is a tiny town of, maybe, six houses located between Haydenville and Nelsonville off of old Route 33 in Southeast, Ohio. Diamond is also home to Insea Sound Shop, a music store/recording studio owned by my friend Nick Collura. The song is: King Of The Road written by Roger Miller. Watch out for that train!

The Bait House Bar (Port Clinton, Ohio)

Celebrating the first day of summer on the banks of Lake Erie at The Bait House Bar in Port Clinton, Ohio. One of my favorite places to not only play but to hang out at.

Memphis, Michigan

I had an opportunity to play Talent By The River in Memphis, Michigan a cool little town of about 1800 people about twenty minutes west of Port Huron. Memphis is best known for being the home of the first automobile invented in Michigan. Back in 1884, the Clegg family invented a steam powered contraption known as “The Thing”. It was a very distant ancestor to the cars that Henry Ford began churning out thirty or so years later but it was the first automobile manufactured in Michigan.
Thanks to Dave Pearl and the Lions club for inviting me to play and to NEMC-TV 6, the local television station for televising the show. It must have been a slow night.

Casey’s Website

Oberlin, Ohio

Performing at the farmers market in Oberlin, Ohio. It was a fun time but I was a bit on edge, those consequences listed on the wall were a bit terrifying!
